The Light Maze

Collaboration with
Ben Busche

Designed by the german architect Ben Busche from the Brut Delux Studio, the Light Maze is one of Ilmex’s the most popular and internationally recognized projects. The idea was born with the aim of offering an innovate and immersive experience, where daytime decorative value played a key role.

By combining new materiales and natural sunlight, the maze represents a further step in decorative lighting projects.

The spectator as

This impressive maze with triangular geometry is constructed using panels of acrylic material, each standing at over two meters in height. The innovation lies in the use of dichroic sheets attached to them, creating a play of colors where the viewer becomes the protagonist: depending on their position, the color they see changes, as well as its reflection on the ground. The Light Maze made its debut in 2017 in Seville and Brussels, and it has since been featured in numerous cities around the world, including Dubai, London, Panama and Austin.
