Mare de Deu stars

A sky full of stars in the
center of Barcelona

Inspired by the star placed on the tower of the Mare de Deu of Sagrada Familia temple in Barcelona and inaugurated in 2022, we designed a custom project for the city that filled one of its main avenues, Paseo de Gracia, with a luminous sky full of stars.

In total, forty stars designed in three planes with dichroic and colorful elements to create a significant visual impact during the day as well, making Paseo de Gracia a unique sight during the Christmas of 2022. All these stars were accompanied by more than 3,000 falling lights, which reflected the sunlight during the day and the illumination of the motifs at night, achieving an effect of an endless starry sky.

A design adapted to the city's culture

The Project of stars of Mare de Deu is one of the clearest and most spectacular examples of Ilmex’s development of a design adapted to the culture and personality of a city, using one of its main monuments as a reference and a significant landmark to decorate its Christmas.
