Serrano Stret
Collaboration with
Teresa Sapey
A fascinating aspect of Madrid’s Christmas lighting is that for years, the city has offered the opportunity to both emerging and prestigious designers to decorate some of its most important central points with lights. One renowned designer who has decorated Madrid’s streets on multiple occasions is Teresa Sapey, and Ilmex has been the company resposible for bringing her designs to life in the form of lighting.
Cheerful touches and geometric shapes.
In 2012, Teresa Sapey was tasked with designing the Christmas lighting for Madrid’s Serrano street. Her proposal was innovative, colorful and groundbreaking, achieved through the combination of vibrant elements, cheerful touches and the play of highly geometric shapes. The design was characterized by the combination of circles in different colors, with varying lights, involving up to seven different types and forming a sequence of patterns that could be seen from both sides.
